Hi, I’m writing this blog about a subject that I simply have to share because it has been transforming for my wife and I….. the KETO DIET.
My wife had not made any plans to start dieting this year, although we both needed to lose weight in that we both have gained over 20 to 25 pounds since retiring back in 2013.
What happened was – at church the couple that sits behind us was sharing with us about how his wife had lost 8 pounds in about 9 to 10 days on the the KETO Diet.
Well, needless to say it sparked a conversation about what was is the KETO Diet and how does it work.  Without getting into every nook and cranny about the mechanics of how it works in this blog, they basically explained that the KETO Diet puts your body into ketosis. My wife and I were so inspired and impressed by our friend’s quick results in weight loss and their explaining the simplicity of what you could and could not eat  – in that it would not severely alter the way we eat and enjoy food the we normally eat anyway.
Well, to make a long story short – we purchased a few suggested starter food items and prepared our meals as suggested and to our GREAT AND AMAZING SURPRISE within 8 days my wife lost 9 pounds and I lost 11 pounds.
That was 4 months ago and since then we’ve both lost over 20 pounds and several inches in our waist, hips, and neck – (a complete makeover).  This is really exciting stuff having friends and family commenting on how good we look – and the obvious loss in weight is directly attributable to that. In fact, we constantly seat at the table and are amazed – “just how good we are eating”.  Quite often, we look at each other and say, “I can’t believe we’re eating this good on a diet”.
We are now hearing all over our church of other people that have either seen my wife and I or heard from someone else about what the KETO diet has done for us – and they have gotten on it and are getting similar results.
I could so much more but as I promised, I didn’t want to make this a long blog but I just had to share this to my friends, family and followers of this blog.
So, I hope this will help someone and encourage you if you needed just that little nudge to get started on losing a few pounds this year.

What do you know about yourself…….

Well, one thing that I know about my self is – I cannot fail. Now, I don’t say that to be boastful or arrogant – what I mean is I simply cannot allow or resolve my thinking to ever quit on my goals and leaving a legacy for my family. So when I say I cannot fail – it has more to do with my internal constitution of never quitting on life.

When I look back over my life, and I think things over, I can say there have been so many times when I could have quit but something deep down inside of me just wouldn’t let me do that. How about you? Are you like that too? Can you relate to that – although you may feel like giving up – your inner you refuses to quit.  Also, have there been instances where fate would also have it where even if you did want to quit – there would be someone who you trusted in – to speak into your life, encounter you in your situation and they were able to influence you to consider alternatives solutions to help you make a good and sound decision.

Speaking of influence, it is one of the most understated and overlooked factors that play such a major role in all of our lives.  Of course, there is both negative and positive influences, however I believe we can agree that those positive influences have saved us in so many instances from making bad decisions which would lead to negative consequences and circumstances.

James Allen, the author of “As A Man Thinketh”said that, “No situation can be difficult of itself; it is the lack of insight into its intricacies, and the want of wisdom in dealing with it, which give rise to the difficulty.  Immeasurable, therefore, is the gain of a difficulty transcended”. I have been saved from some very disastrous results on many occasions by having remarkable mentors throughout my life’s journey during my military career.

If you’ve read any of my previous blogs, you will know that I served in the military for 40 years, and during that time I had many influencers that across my path – both positive and negative.  Needless to say, I am here today because I listened to those who deposited those positive, life-changing words of wisdom, knowledge and inspiration. Those influencers were in essence my mentors. I acknowledge that so much of my success and being able to attain the highest level of rank during my military career can be directly attributed to the mentors I had in my life.

So now, as an online entrepreneur, having mentors in my life has been one of the cornerstones that has also led to my online success.
